Image-guided therapy (IGRT) and online adaptive therapy are essential technologies for further improving the precision of radiotherapy. The road from research to clinical introduction is long, however, and implementation involves many steps that must be cleared. Many medical device manufacturers invest a great deal of time and cost in this process, yet the expected performance is not always realized in the product.

Clinical evaluation and performance verification
Accuracy-evaluation protocols, phantom studies and clinical validation plans from a medical-physics and clinical perspective, including publication in peer-reviewed journals.
